The aim of this subject is to enable you to develop knowledge and skills in understanding and applying accounting standards and the theoretical framework in the preparation of financial statements of entities, including groups and how to analyse and interpret those financial statements.

In this course, you will study the following 

1. Introductory Discussions – Course Overview

2. Regulatory Framework and Conceptual Framework

3. Accounting Standards – International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRSs) & International Accounting Standards (IASs)

4. Preparation of Single Entity Financial Statements such as Income statements and Other Comprehensive Income, Statement of Changes in Equity, Statement of Financial Statement, and Statement of Cash flow

5. Preparation of Consolidated Financial Statements for simple group structure with Associates and/or Joint Ventures – Group Income statement and Other Comprehensive Income and Group Statement of Financial Position

6. Analysing and Interpretation of Financial Statements

7. Specialised transactions – Accounting for Branch Operations, Accounting for Hire Purchase & Partnership Accounting
